WTF?? “Apple should pull the plug on the iPhone”

I can’t stand the fact that people like John Dvorak consider themselves journalists by publishing the most contrarian view against a certain group of people. Call it trolling, call it being a moron, call it being Idiot Of The Week (a la John Gruber), it has to be one of the consistently most annoying practices.

For those not in the know, the infamous John Dvorak claims Apple should no longer develop or market the iPhone, a product not even being sold yet, because the cell phone market is too competitive.

Seriously, what a moron.

  1. I is hard for me to beleive that some one can make that kind of a remark before they have even seen the product. People like that will only cause market changes. Now I am looking at a n95 and iphone and will make up my mind on my own. I do not neet people telling how good or bad a phone is till they have used it, Morons that would stop any new product from entering the market and we would be stuck with only the past some product will make it others will fail but not from some know it all. I do not care if you like apple or not but do not let moron make it for you.

  2. Agreed. It’s one of the problems of the business of journalism: you have contrarian writers and thinkers expunging the diarrhea in their mind, just to get people to respond. Maybe it has more to do with information overload in this day and age: RSS, emails, SMS texts, magazine, newspapers, websites, … skywriting ;-) but whatever it is, it’s effing annoying.

  3. Dvorak has (almost) always been an apple troll, with the exception of a few of his MacUser columns long ago.
