Happy Holidays
I’m off to the ramparts of the Detroit Michigan area this week to spend time with my girlfriend’s great family. But let me wish you happy holidays and a happy New Year.
I saw The Good Shepherd with Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, William Hurt, and Robert De Niro. If you’re into the film noir-esque, who-are-the G-men, X-files-ish, history of the CIA kinda flick, its a good film. It’s not high on pyrotechnical action, but it does serve as an interesting backdrop to the creations and foundation of the OSS and subsequently the CIA. Matt Damon’s character is bland, but his acting superb - though, Angelina Jolie, while incredibly voluptuous is anachronistic and ungraspably out-of-place. The NYTimes review is spot on in my opinion and if you want more depth to a conversation about the movie, head there.
I have much to write about, link to, read (Transcendent CSS, The Digital Fortress, & Jarhead) and of course, much to discuss, so stay tuned. Until then, I hope your holiday season is both happy and healthy!
