People become *OFFICIALLY* Stupid For PS3
When you run a business, having something in short supply when there is high demand is always a fascinating and usually financially rewarding proposition. Marketing departments dream up of as many ways as possible to generate the kind of fervor that the Xbox 360 had last year and the PS3 has this year. But ultimately, I’ve learned, it’s seldom worth the added cost.
Wanting what we can not have is part of the modern human condition, it seems. A lot of individuals, and very often the technology-obsessed, are convinced that life is better when you have the latest and greatest: is it really possible to enjoy life when you’re not piloting the newest Mac Pro through tasks or playing your old version of Pac Man on an overpowering gaming machine?
I’m still flabbergasted by the number of people clamoring and fighting over a system that doesn’t *yet* have much to boast. I now own an Xbox 360, and had I paid anything more than list price and not had some of the more advanced games to really enjoy it with, I’d be pissed. (It is soooooooo worth the list price though) So here’s the lesson, get some sleep and don’t wake up at 4am to buy the shitty TV that’s reduced from $1200 to $1000. Don’t fight, rob, shoot, or knife for a damn PS3 when all you want to do is watch Revenge Of The Nerds in Blu Ray. There are more important things to remember and work for.
Having said all of that, it is official turkey day in the US, so I hope this post finds all the readers, both happy and well. I find myself with much to be thankful, most especially sleep, so I won’t be robbing myself of it for a free $50 DVD player come 5am.
Sweet dreams & cheers!
