The week started off with the interesting, strangely intuitive and logical news (in that “duh, of course Apple was working on this” way) that a partnership between Apple and Research in Motion is possible. “Such a deal would have huge merit because each company lacks what the other provides. RIM wants a firm foothold in the consumer market and Apple doesn’t have a presence in the booming wireless data sector”

Holy Screenshots Batman!! In case you haven’t followed any of the news that has circulated around the blogosphere regarding Apple (which originated here), you can download a plugin that creates a 3-pane version of Apple Mail. Such a thing would be desirable for the Thunderbird or Mac Office/Entourage converts who grew accustomed to Entourage’s new 3-pane view.

And on the note of After Effects, Photoshop, Flash, and FileMaker… there are times when you really feel like you are fighting against the virtual work environment that you’re using. If you want to see what that means literally, take a look here.
Thanks to UneasySilence, I’ve set up a box.net account to mount on my FileMaker server and upload a zipped copy of all the data into named folders. It’s a seriously easy way to add remote backup capabilities to a system.
