The Union Of Blogland
Dear people of the place possibly known as Blogland,
I’ve been terribly busy but there is much to write and much to ponder (these are my skims) in the news of late. In no particular order:
- You know Google Analytics is out. I’m tracking all of you suckas right now. I’m in yo head, in yo head!!!!
- WorldSync has been awarded the patent for the technology behind SyncDeK, a suite of tools for trustworthy data replication for local and remote FileMaker databases. I’ve known about this for a bit and, happily, we were the only blog to be included in the announcement list (it’s always nice to be recognized). The Blink thought: Looks snazzy, easy to use, cross-platform, and effective. Maybe now I could tell all those Lotus Notes freaks to get their head out of their rears and start using FileMaker!!! Sorry, Notes was neato for a bit, but I have some SERIOUS gripes. Regardless, SyncDeK looks interesting and promising. I’m working on a FMv8 migration that could definitely use this feature set and I’ll see what I can find out, test, and pass on to you.
- Tim Deitrich has started a new blog entitled FileMaker Addict, go check it out. Welcome to the club Tim! The first post is about Janet, her FileMaker Fever, and more
- I saw Derailed over the weekend. Some thoughts on that for those who are more frugal than I am with movie-ticket money
- … And anything else my currently fried brain can manage to push through to words on this site. To sleep I go. Sweet dreams.
I even dream in FileMaker sometimes. Yeah, the addiction is that bad…
*giggles* sorry, I read “The Union of Bogland”
(drinking for BBC Children in Need)
Bogland?? Do tell, what would it mean?
[…] I’m absolutely delighted to announce the publishing of an interview with Tim Dietrich who recently started publishing the FileMaker Addict blog. Some of you may recognize Tim’s name as I have mentioned this blog before. […]
Does your addiction to FM extend to FM Server 8? If so do you know how to export data from a file on the server to a tab deliminated text file for use with a word merge document on an iMac functioning on a local LAN?
Thanks,
