As if you didn’t know! Now go get it… I’ve been using the newer 1.5 version and it certainly is more responsive and has the nice candy of being able to re-order tabs.

Cool checkershadow illusion

By Emile • Nov 26th, 2005 • Category: General

As unbelievable as it may seem, the squares marked A and B are the EXACT same shade of gray.

Credit to Airtight Interactive for mentioning it. If you’d like the full explanation, you can find it here. In addition, more illusions can be found care of Edward Adelson.

Interview feature over at FileMaker Addict!

By Emile • Nov 24th, 2005 • Category: General

I’m absolutely delighted to announce the publishing of an interview of myself with Tim Dietrich who recently started publishing the FileMaker Addict blog (who doesn’t love to hear themselves talk?). Some of you may recognize Tim’s name as I have mentioned this blog before.
My interview notwithstanding, I think Tim has a great idea and […]

By Emile • Nov 19th, 2005 • Category: Design, General, Software, WWW

37Signals and their blog Signal vs. Noise is certainly one of the more interesting blogs around. Fueled by their very buzzed about products (you KNOW what they are right?), the blog receives a fair amount of exposure and feedback thus making it a vibrant and worthwhile discussion forum.
Frankly, I’m inspired by their success. […]

Small blog update…

By Emile • Nov 16th, 2005 • Category: Design, Elvgren, General, WWW

I recently discovered a small problem with some of the Theme Switcher code and the Recent Comments plugin that was part of the Elvgren theme on this site (all you Elvgren users don’t have to worry about this), but I’ve turned off the cookie that stores your theme preference, so the site may suddenly display […]

The Union Of Blogland

By Emile • Nov 16th, 2005 • Category: Blogging, FileMaker, General

Dear people of the place possibly known as Blogland,
I’ve been terribly busy but there is much to write and much to ponder (these are my skims) in the news of late. In no particular order:
- You know Google Analytics is out. I’m tracking all of you suckas right now. I’m in yo […]

Slimmer FileMaker Development

By Emile • Nov 11th, 2005 • Category: Design, FileMaker, General

The FileMaker paradigm of designing a database system has missed the wonderful tool of parameters for such a long time, that I still find myself having to rethink a lot of solutions where I was previously hardwired to have multiple but similar scripts, instead of one script that could handle practically any paramter I throw […]
