So I’m Flocking …

Flock
I found a link mentioning a number of hits regarding the software named Flock.  Intrigued by the interface, I sauntered over to Flock.com and read a little bit more about what exactly Flock is. Answer: It’s a browser.

But it’s different and thus far, I appreciate the differences. It ties support for Del.Icio.Us into the browser itself as a core component. It has built-in support for posting to blogs (I’m testing that feature with this very post), see the image below.

The GUI is pretty slick and aside from some minor performance glitches, this browser (which is built upon the Mozilla Firefox 1.5 foundation) offers some interesting and positive enhancements to the way we use our web browser.  Go check it out

Update
The blogging-from-within-the-browser feature is definitely cool, but as noted by many users, it produces crappy HTML with all sorts of rendering problem semantics built in due to the way it translates rich-formatting to the web. This is *after all* beta software, but it’s something worth noting.
