Back in business
It took long enough but I’m finally back from an exploration of the beaches and marshes of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Yes, when the beach is 40 ft from your back porch, life is a bitch…
As for other updates, I haven’t forgotten about the promises for the FileMaker search technique a la Spotlight. I’ve received a lot of enthusiastic emails and I aim to deliver in the next week or two. (Sorry it isn’t sooner, I’m currently playing catch up.)
I know some of what to expect from the FileMaker Developers Conference that will be happening this coming weekend, but alas a broad and mean-sounding NDA has my lips sealed damn shut. I’d love to hear any experiences from people at the conference and any juicy news.
In the mean time, go check out the new and jazzy A List Apart or see how the lovely and delicious Delicious Library was spawned.
Come check out my new site LibraryThing.com. It’s an online library cataloging site, no where near as elegant as Delicious Library, but with a stronger focus on cataloging (eg., it uses the Library of Congress, not Amazon), and a tagging system. It reads Deligious Library export files too. If you’re into it, I’ll give you a paid subscription. Right now it’s free to 200 books, $10 after that.
