By Emile • Jul 31st, 2005 • Category: Design, FileMaker, General, Software

Anyone have any good links to intuitive and functional POS systems? I know of ShopkeeperFM and a couple of others whose name I can’t recall, but generally I’m not impressed.

PageRank of 5 - woohoo baby!!

For those who don’t care about the universe of Google, then this will mean nothing. But, as everyone else might care and given the black magic of Search Engine Optimization, climbing up the rankings of Google is no easy feat.
Perhaps my only tip is: content is king.

Things Apple will never do…

By Emile • Jul 29th, 2005 • Category: Design, General, Music

So I’m reading an article in the August ‘05 issue of Fast Company last night which is discussing the death of the iPod, almost as if it is a foregone conclusion. The author, John J. Sviokla, proposes the idea that because of the technology and music marketplace ecosystem and the fact that Apple holds […]

The Google OS

By Emile • Jul 26th, 2005 • Category: Design, General

So it has been rumored that Google has been working on their own proprietary OS for ages, maybe their own flavor of Linux, or something like that. In stocking up the new Gateway ‘weapon’ with ditties like the new and fabulously free Konfabulator, Google Desktop Search, and then the Google Picasa Photo Management program, […]

SVN for Mac, explained… F***ING FINALLY!

By Emile • Jul 26th, 2005 • Category: Blogging, Design, Elvgren, FileMaker, General, Taft, Wordpress

Chris J. Davis, already ranked with several gold stars in my book, for his Wordpress evangelism and kick-ass Rate-It Wordpress plugin, has outdone himself once again. Why, you ask? But wait, more Elvgren and Taft goodies to come!

New addition to the Lab…

By Emile • Jul 25th, 2005 • Category: Blogging, Design, Elvgren, FileMaker, General, Taft

Mired in Virtual PC slowness, I could no longer contain energy, anxiety, and despair and subsequently purchased a Gateway 7510GX at my local Best Buy. What does this mean for you? Sweeter, thicker, and richer Wordpress themes. Elvgren should finally be IE bug free or as close as possible, AND Taft should […]

Be prepared to be blown away

Perhaps you were lucky enough to see him on Dave Letterman’s Late Show, but if you weren’t then you should sit down… Raul Midon has entered the house. In case you missed the Late Show performance, take a look at his performance (RealVideo file) here. If you have more time on your hands, […]

Terrorists: What dumb f***s !

By Emile • Jul 9th, 2005 • Category: General

Much like when I awoke the morning of September 11, 2001 - I was startled to learn of news that terrorists had targeted freedom-loving people in a nation that commonly refers to itself as “just across the pond”. You, no doubt, know that I speak of the London Terror Bombings that occurred yesterday morning; […]
