Back To Elvgren
Ok, I have a problem. A serious, serious problem. I like Kubrick.
I really, really like it. But I think I should start putting that sentence in the past tense. I liked it. This is not a form of Kubrick bashing, but more a lament of praise on its rise, most especially since it has become the default theme to Wordpress. Thus, I sing the Kubrick-tiredness blues. Kubrick kicks ass, make no mistake. It’s clean. It’s easy-to-read. It’s pleasant. (Which can all hardly be said of many of the current Wordpress themes, including Elvgren). I’m a design fascist and when I see a Kubrick design, it can and will usually irritate me enough to want to change some of the images, typography, layout, placement, etc. Heileman did it fine. Why mess with it? That being said, I’m looking to evolve our homegrown Wordpress form to such a high standard, and with that beinng said, I’ve switched Elvgren back to the default theme. Now, any and all of the small quirks and possible bugs will have to be worked out ASAP.
I’ve started to use your theme, becuase I enjoy its non-traditional layout. I am having some trouble implementing some extra features, and was wondering if it’s me, or if something is lacking in the theme. I am trying to get livesearch to work as described here: http://fernando.dubtribe.com/archives/2005/06/01/livesearch-for-wordpress-1512/
As of today I have had no luck. Any input would be fantastic.
Other plans are to have the rotating image be a daily image, and when one clicks on it, they go to a daily (semi-daily) photoblog page. Still working on that. I have been able to have the photoblog send a thumbnail to the main blog, but not a fullsize image.
cheers.
