Taft Outweighs Elvgren

Ladies and gentlemen, in this corner weighing in at a modest 200lbs is the wordpress theme Elllllllllllllllllllvvvvvvvgrennnnnnn!!!!!

And in the opposite corner, the underground alternative , weighing in at 693lbs er… 693 downloads for the month of April is TTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaafffffffffffffffftttttt!!

Now that all of the hubbub has settled from , I’m surprised to see a lot of positive feedback and love for Taft. Elvgren was more of the attention parasite, most likely because it was the first attempt at a Wordpress theme. Taft, on the other hand, after being Photoshop-ed to its current state in 24 hours, was rushed out in under 8 hours to make the last theme deadline. Most of that rush has shown with the occasional bug rearing its ugly head, but the biggest annoyance has been the IE incompatibility with PNGs. Vkaryl pointed me to a workaround which I may or may not use, I’m still determining how good the non-transparency workarounds look.

Nonetheless, Taft outweighs Elvgren usually by a 4-to-1 download ratio - I’m pleasantly surprised and impressed.
